DREAMWAVE News and Rumors for 5/18/10

- With 17 days to go until the 2010 double shot weekend, the entire Celebrate LaSalle  and partial "Immortality" cards have been announced on the Next Event page.

- After word got around about DREAMWAVE being invited to the Celebrate LaSalle festival, a couple of other nearby towns were quick to follow suit.  Apparently there is one more show rumored to be added this summer and it would be explosive to say the least.

- The entire DREAMWAVE locker room is divided on picking a winner for the Career match at "Immortality" on June 5th between Prince Mustafa Ali and Acid.  It's safe to say that Acid is the more well liked of the two, however Prince Ali is very well respected by his peers for his sheer athletic ability.  Regardless of who wins, DREAMWAVE will be the real loser in this match because a great talent is walking out of the Knights of Columbus for the last time on June 5th.

- As of this writing, Nick Brubaker has been the DREAMWAVE World Champion for 1 month and 15 days,  Steve Boz has been the DREAMWAVE Alternative Champion for 1 month and 15 days, and Zero Gravity have been the DREAMWAVE Tag Team Champions for 3 months and 12 days.

- To say that "Retaliation" on May 1st was the worst night in Ryland Foxx's life would be a gross understatement.  The self proclaimed "star maker" was said to be totally distraught after "Retaliation".  Things don't appear to be getting any better for him either, as DREAMWAVE CEO, Jay Repsel, ordered him to lace up his wrestling boots for the first time ever. when he teams with Juice to take on Hammett and Marshe Rocket at "Immortality" on June 5th.

- Speaking of CEO, Jay Repsel, he was overheard saying it "felt good to be back in there" after "Retaliation".  JC Costilli, on the other hand was said to be livid at the way Repsel "gave him the night off".  The tension between these two seems to be mounting month by month and it's gotten to the point that it can no longer be ignored.  It'll be interesting to see what happens between the "powers that be" in the months to come.

- The appearance of Sid Vicious on June 5th at "Immortality" may not be the last by a member of the legendary Four Horseman group.  There is an open appearance contract on the table for another member of the legendary super group.

- Tickets for our August 7th event will go sale at our Celebrate LaSalle event on June 4th, and will of course be on sale at "Immortality" the next night (June 5th).

- There has been some rumbling internally about ANNIVERSARY II (currently scheduled for April 9th, 2011), to be moved to  April 2nd, 2011.  Management is apparently looking at having a larger venue host the event.  The word is that there is a HUGE special guest that is being negotiated with already and if it goes through we may require a larger venue.

- If you haven't seen the article on news section of the site, Yabo the Clown is set to debut at "Immortality" on June 5th.  That thing gives me the willies.

- Qualifying matches for "Good as Gold" which takes place on September 11th will begin in July.  The progressive entry, 20 man rumble was a huge fan favorite last year and was won by "The B-O-Z" Steve Boz.  Boz drew number one and went all the way to the end to win the "Good As Gold" briefcase which is good for a shot at any title within the next year.

- Keep your eyes open while at the newsstands, Pro Wrestling Illustrated has begun to cover DREAMWAVE events, and will regularly feature results, top ten rankings,  and articles about DREAMWAVE from time to time.

- JC Costilli is said to have a huge announcement at "Immortality" on June 5th that will shake things up in the tag team division.  Zero Gravity are currently the DREAMWAVE Tag Team Champions, and they defend those titles against If Looks Could Kill at the Celebrate LaSalle Festival on June 5th.  Regardless of who wins, they will also be defending the belts the next night at "Immortality".

- DREAMWAVE has come to terms on the release of Jak Ferrik.  We wish him the best in his future endeavors.

- After establishing himself as a fan favorite,  Dan the Man (DTM) has been signed to a DREAMWAVE contract.

- CEO, Jay Repsel, recently accepted a Community Humanitarian award on behalf of DREAMWAVE Wrestling at the Horizon House's Annual Award benefit.  DREAMWAVE works closely with the Horizon House to assure that no wrestling fan has to go without, despite the current economic conditions.  DREAMWAVE also works closely with the March of Dimes, and is attempting to put together a fundraiser effort for IVAR (Illinois Valley Animal Rescue).

- An announcement about 2011 season tickets will be made following "Immortality" on June 5th.

 - Less than ten  front row seats remain for "Summer Spectacular" on 7/17.

- The DREAMWAVE Birthday calendar is filling up quickly, if you wish to spend your birthday with DREAMWAVE wrestling please email us by clicking here.

- We tried to contact "Silent Intensity" Austin Roberts to get a few quotes from him regarding his upcoming rematch with Nick Brubaker for the World Championship at Celebrate LaSalle on June 4th, but he was unable to be reached.  Roberts is said to be training like never before to regain the thing that meant everything to him in this business, the DREAMWAVE World Championship.  Cameras did catch up with him following "Retaliation" on May 1st, you can see that brief interview by clicking here.    If Roberts recaptures the World Title at Celebrate LaSalle on June 4th, he won't have long to celebrate, as he would defend the title the next night at "Immortality" against the winner of Friday night's Dan Lawrence vs GT Vega Match.

- On the other side of the coin, World Champion, "Next" Nick Brubaker is said to have become extremely paranoid and protective of his World Title.  One DREAMWAVE Wrestler who spoke on the condition of anonymity was quoted as saying "Brubaker is a like a ticking time bomb, ready to explode.  We used to be good friends but I can't even stand to be around him anymore."  Not making the situation any better, Ryland Foxx is rumored to be "preoccupied" with his upcoming match at "Immortality", so he has provided little comfort for the champion.  If Brubaker retain at Celebrate LaSalle he would have to defend the next night against the winner of the Dan Lawrence vs GT Vega Match.

-  Sometime over the last week there was a huge signing of a regular roster member.  While details are very minimal we do know this:  This person is set to debut at the August 7th event, and  there was said to be a lot of celebrating going on when this person faxed back their signed contract.  I'm hoping to see some sort of teaser video at "Immortality" to shed some light on this subject.

-While management hasn't accepted the offer yet,  DREAMWAVE has been offered an outdoor show in Ottawa, IL
