DREAMWAVE News & Rumors for 12/14/11

- Nick Brubaker shook the DREAMWAVE universe to it's core with his shocking appearance at The Fight Before Christmas on 12/3.  Brubaker showed up, received the loudest ovation I have ever heard, and he challenged Austin Roberts for the World Championship at the end of the show.

I'm told that Costilli left in the middle of the show to meet Brubaker at an undisclosed location.  The two apparently reached a multi-year deal that will keep Brubaker in DREAMWAVE for a long time (rumored to be upwards of  three years).  Talk about coming down to the wire!

It is my understanding that Roberts v Brubaker for the World Championship at ANNIVERSARY III on April 7th, 2012 is either a done deal or very close to being done.  According to one source, Brubaker wanted the match at Season Premiere on 2/4 but Roberts and Repsel wouldn't agree to those terms due to the injuries Roberts sustained in his First Blood match with Acid on 12/3.  If you ask me it makes perfect sense to save the biggest match of the year for ANNIVERSARY III, the biggest stage.

- Amazing show on 12/3, one of my all time favorites.

 _______________________________________________________________________________

- In case you missed it, the mysterious 12/3/11 videos turned out to be leading up to the return of Prince Mustafa Ali.  The DREAMWAVE fans seemed to be thrilled with his return, until he attacked Marshe and C-Red violently with the microphone at The Fight Before Christmas on 12/3/11.  This left many questions: What is Ali's motivation for this return? Who is he working for? What is his problem with Marshe and C-Red?

I have it confirmed that Ali returns to in ring action on 2/4/12 at Season Premiere but it won't be against Marshe, that match has also been inked for ANNIVERSARY III on 4/7/12.  That one could very well steal the show.

-  Waylon is said to be devastated that Mason Beck spoiled his attempt to cash in his Good As Gold Briefcase at The Fight Before Christmas.  Waylon seemed to have Austin Roberts right where he wanted him before Mason intervened and took it away in the blink of an eye.  I wonder if Waylon is having second thoughts about leaving his family for Superval and the DREAMWAVE fans?

_______________________________________________________________________________

- I can't remember a time that a new competitor has garnered as much attention as Christian Rose has recently.

_______________________________________________________________________________

- Dan Lawrence seems to be frustrated with his role in DREAMWAVE lately.  Rumor has it that Dan feels he doesn't receive the respect he deserves from his peers, the fans, or management.  Lawrence showed some frustration at The Fight Before Christmas when he took on Collin Cambridge and forced the newcomer to say he respected him (Lawrence).  It'll be interesting to see where this goes.  Lawrence is actually one of the most tenured guys in LaSalle's history.  He worked for the previous incarnation of LaSalle wrestling, RCW, and held both the tag team and Alternative Titles, respectively,  in that company.

- I have no idea how The Dudesons keep winning, but they do.  They are now 2-0 in tag team competition.  Many backstage are comparing it to Tim Tebow's success in the NFL.  It isn't pretty, but they get the job done.  Could this be a case of divine intervention?  Could the world be "Dudesoning" soon?  Oh Lord.

_______________________________________________________________________________

- I'm told that no announcement has been made for a March (Road to ANNIVERSARY) guest as of yet because management has their eyes on a certain individual.  Last I heard the plan was to have a guest, but JC was waiting to hear back from a certain person.  Even if the deal is inked, I wouldn't expect an announcement until Season Premiere.

_______________________________________________________________________________

--- A lot of former WWE performers who are under "Legends" contracts have been put on notice to be "ready at a moments notice" when the WWE network launches on April 1st due to the live nature of a lot of the programming.  Vince McMahon has told everyone to have "all hands on deck" mentality beginning 4/1.  This is already affecting DREAMWAVE, as one of the front runners who was to be the ANNIVERSARY III guest, had to drop out due to WWE commitments.

_______________________________________________________________________________

- Expect one departure following Season Premiere.  Unlike the the Brubaker contract situation, this is a mutual, logistical decision.

_______________________________________________________________________________

- Major changes coming to the live shows beginning in 2012.  Particularly to the to pre-show and coming back from intermission, to make things run much more efficiently.  A company memo circulated this week saying that the main goal on show day is to cut the intermission times down drastically.  The company directive is to have the shows end no later than 10 p.m. Central Time.

- Expect more free matches to be posted on dreamwavewrestling.com in 2012.

- DREAMWAVE officials are finalizing a deal that would make the Knights of Columbus it's home through the 2013 season.

_______________________________________________________________________________

- The annual roster shake up will probably take place following ANNIVERSARY III.

_______________________________________________________________________________

- New DREAMWAVE T-Shirts will debut at "Season Premiere".

_______________________________________________________________________________

- Once Acid saw the footage following The Fight Before Christmas on 12/3 he was said to be furious at Jay Repsel and was searching the entire building for him, his search was not successful. Maybe Jay was washing the hot dog smell off? _______________________________________________________________________________

- Greg Glover is looking for fans to design his new T-Shirt! A link will be posted on the front page when the contest gets under way.

_______________________________________________________________________________

- DREAMWAVE The Music: Volume 2 is due out in February.  The production department is also planning some "best of DVD's" for next year.

_______________________________________________________________________________

- Wrestler's who tried out prior to The Fight Before Christmas:  Jun Hado, Markus Crane, Cecil Cerveza, and Gunner Franks.

_______________________________________________________________________________

- In what may be the best news of the year, The Knights of Columbus had brand new air conditioning units installed recently that should make the summer shows "much more tolerable".

_______________________________________________________________________________

- Three matches have been announced so far for Season Premiere on 2/4.  I'm hearing it's an 8 match show so 5 more to go  Here is whats been announced so far:

Christian Rose v Marshe Rockett

450 v Ace Martino for the Alternative Title

Chavo Guerrero Jr. vs Prince Mustafa Ali

- Click here to read an article I wrote on The Beck Family and their dominance in DREAMWAVE so far

_______________________________________________________________________________

- I'm currently working on a few year end articles for the site, should be done soon.

_______________________________________________________________________________

- What a war Greg Glover and Brian Nelson went through at the Fight Before Christmas.  At some point those guys have to be thinking about their careers and their futures.  I realize they despise each other and want to settle this score but they are both young men and have bright futures ahead of them.  The current path they are on is certainly a career shortener.

_______________________________________________________________________________

- Interesting numerology:

Zero Gravity's total number of tag team title reigns:  2

Total days as tag team champions: 539 days

Total losses in DREAMWAVE: 2

Total losses in the month of December: 2

Maybe Zero Gravity should use their vacation time in the month of December?

_______________________________________________________________________________

- DTM and Colt Cabana have been pretty chummy lately.  DTM almost seems like he looks up to Cabana as a "big brother" he is always trying to impress.

_______________________________________________________________________________

- Year end awards are being figured out right now by the board of directors.

_______________________________________________________________________________

- Anyone notice there has been a little friction amongst the members of P.R.I.D.E. recently?

_______________________________________________________________________________

- Shane Hollister is expected back in 2012
