Bio-
Fate stepped
in and changed the course of history for Nick
Brubaker and DREAMWAVE Wrestling in April of 2009.
Nick Brubaker wasn't even scheduled to appear on
DREAMWAVE's debut show Beginnings, but was contacted
as a last minute replacement for "Sexy" Shawn Cook.
The rest as they say is history.
Brubaker,
along with Ryland Foxx, and Jason Hades formed the
A-List and dominated the company for it's first two
years. The group imploded when Brubaker and
Foxx turned their backs on Hades, which led to a
classic feud and series of matches between the two.
Internally,
Nick Brubaker is known for a few rare feats. Having
never missed a DREAMWAVE show, he holds the
distinction of being the only wrestler to appear on
every single event in the company's history.
Brubaker also won the Good As Gold briefcase from
Steve Boz in a one on one match at Season Premiere
2009, after coercing Boz to but the briefcase on the
line in exchange for a shot at Brubaker's
Alternative Title. While he didn't win the
Good as Gold Rumble to attain it, he did capitalize
on Boz's mistake to cash in the briefacse and win
the DREAMWAVE World Championship on the same night
he lost his Alternative Title to Boz (4/3/10).
He is also the only man to have held both the World
and Alternative titles.
Something
strange happened in the Autumn/Winter of 2011...the
DREAMWAVE fans started feverishly cheering Brubaker,
who had been a rule breaker for his entire tenure
with the company. Brubaker went through a very
public contract dispute with the DREAMWAVE front
office, which was resolved just in time for Brubaker
to return to challenge Austin Roberts for the World
Championship at ANNIVERSARY III on 4/7/12.
